According to the announcement on Facebook, a note written in child's handwriting was found, which contained the threat of a bomb. School district officials said police were called, and bomb sniffing dogs will sweep the school.
Students and staff, according to officials, were evacuated out of an abundance of caution, and will return to the school building once it is cleared.
According to a statement released by Surprise Police Department Wednesday afternoon, K9 teams were called to the scene, and the school was searched for any explosive devices. No explosive devices were reportedly found, and an investigation into the alleged threat is ongoing.
