PHOENIX - A wrong-way crash closed the Interstate 17 freeway Wednesday night, leaving three people injured, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Officials say the wrong-way driver was seriously injured after hitting another vehicle with two people inside. Those individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The southbound I-17 was closed at Thomas Road for the investigation.
The freeway has since reopened.
No names were released in this case.
