PHOENIX (AP) -- A Casa Grande woman has been arrested for allegedly driving impaired and trying to elude authorities on a Phoenix freeway.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say 43-year-old Vivian Roberts has been booked into a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, aggravated driving while under the influence, unlawful flight, an outstanding felony warrant and two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

DPS officials say a motorcycle trooper stopped a car Tuesday morning for an HOV lane violation on Interstate 17 near the Deer Valley Road off ramp.

After the trooper got off his motorcycle, authorities say Roberts drove away and that started the pursuit.

Authorities say a civilian exiting I-17 saw what was happening and placed his vehicle in front of Robert's car to block her escape and she was arrested.
