Douglas CBP officers seize $85k in marijuana

Agents with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection assigned to the Port of Douglas arrested a Mexican woman on January 8th for allegedly trying to enter the country with 171 pounds of marijuana.

18-year-old Irene Guadalupe Rodriguez-Cortes of Sonora, Mexico was arrested when agents found the marijuana within the tires of a Ford SUV she was driving.

The street value of the drugs is estimated at $85,000.

Officers seized the vehicle and marijuana, Rodriguez was turned over to homeland security's investigation division.
