PHOENIX - Despite prior statements, officials with Phoenix Pride say the annual LGBTQ+ pride parade event will now be postponed.
According to a statement Friday, officials say both the Phoenix Pride Festival, scheduled to take place from April 4 to 5, along with the parade that is scheduled for April 5, will be postponed until the fall as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the Phoenix Pride website, Pride Parades are traditionally held during the month of June to commemorate an LGBTQ+ rights protest that happened in June 1969. Phoenix Pride officials say they hold their annual pride parade in April for heat-related reasons.
