Deadly parking lot crash at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport slows holiday weekend traffic

A deadly terminal 4 parking lot crash at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Sunday, Sept. 4 caused major traffic delays during the long Labor Day Weekend.

The Phoenix Police Department says a man crashed into a wall on the top floor of the parking lot early in the morning and died at the scene. On Sept. 5, police identified the person who died as 54-year-old Torrey Reid, but no other information about him was immediately released.

"Roadway traffic was restricted on the north side of Terminal 4 most of the day while the damaged portion of the wall and the vehicle were removed. Roadway traffic at Sky Harbor is expected to be back to normal by approximately 8 p.m.," the Phoenix Police Department said.

There's no word on what caused the crash to happen.
