Deadly crash causes power outage in Phoenix
A deadly crash shut down the intersection of 67th Avenue and McDowell on Saturday morning.
Police say speed and impairment were both factors in the deadly collision. The driver of a Mustang was taken into custody after the collision.
One of the drivers slammed into a power pole. As many as 2700 customers were without power after the accident. Several traffic lights on McDowell and on the I-10 were also without power following the crash.
Power was restored before 7am to the majority of customers. SRP crews are working to restore power to about sixty-five remaining customers.
