AVONDALE - Arizona Department of Public Safety says a woman was killed in an accident on eastbound I-10 in Avondale on Sunday morning.
DPS troopers say the vehicle crashed into the barrier wall at about 9:40am in the area between 99th Avenue and 107th Avenue. A 48-year-old woman died in the crash, according to DPS troopers. Three others were reportedly taken to nearby hospitals and are expected to survive.
Two cars were reportedly involved in the collision, and the 99th Avenue exit was shut down so troopers could investigate deadly crash.
ADOT is advising drivers the exit will remain closed for hours, and wants to suggest motorists to take the exit at 107th Avenue and use the frontage road to reach 99th Avenue.
