SkyFOX was over the scene in the area of Peak Pike Road and Pickering Dam Road around 4 p.m. Monday. First responders say the boy went in the creek to ride a boogie board and was swept hundreds of feet down stream.

The Friendship Fire Dive and Rescue Team along with Kimberton firefighters carefully threaded a rope to the boy. Next, a small boat was sent over--secured at both ends. With one brave leap, the boy landed in the boat and was pulled to safety.

The boy was checked out by medics and was able to go home with family.

Heavy rains Monday morning caused flooding and prompted road closures and rescues of people from stranded cars all over the area.
