College Park man denied bond in violent assault on gay couple
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - The College Park man accused of pouring boiling water on two men as they slept in the home of his girlfriend was denied bond Thursday.
Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard said Martin Blackwell, 48, will remain in jail for the February 12 incident. Blackwell reportedly admitted to doing so to police, indicating he was disgusted by the men's relationship. The men suffered second and third degree burns.
Blackwell was charged with eight counts of aggravated battery and two counts of aggravated assault. He faces up to 80 years in prison if convicted
His trial is slated to begin August 22 in Fulton County.
