18-month-old girl dies after being pulled out of Glendale pool

A child has died after she was pulled from a swimming pool at a home in Glendale.

The incident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 in the area of Deer Valley Road and 75th Avenue.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and performed life-saving measures on the child before she was rushed to a hospital. The girl was later pronounced dead.

Child pulled from Glendale pool, rushed to hospital

The child was pulled from a pool near 75th Avenue and Deer Valley Road. The child's condition is unknown.

Police say the child was visiting the home at the time of the incident. The pool area was fenced.

"Investigators are still looking into the details as to who was watching the child and how the child managed to make her way to the pool," Sgt. Randy Stewart said. "Currently, we have no word on potential charges since this remains an active and ongoing investigation."
