Casa Grande Police say they were made aware of accusations that an employee with Casa Grande Union High School possibly had an inappropriate relationship with a female student at the school.

According to a statement released by Thomas Anderson with Casa Grande Police, 28-year-old Patrick Cann was arrested on charges related to an incident where Cann allegedly assaulted his 30-year-old wife. Police say on Monday, officers responded to a call made by a 3rd party regarding the wife. The wife reportedly said her husband physically and sexually assaulted her.

Police say investigators eventually determined the incident happened over the weekend, and the woman suffered significant. non-life threatening injuries.

Cann, according to police, was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center on charges of Assault, Aggravated Assault, Sexual Assault and Threats. Police did not elaborate on allegations of an inappropriate relationship Cann had with a female student.

Meanwhile, in a statement provided to FOX 10's Danielle Miller, officials with the Casa Grande Union High School District say Cann is an at-will support staff employee who is currently under suspension. A due process termination hearing for Cann is scheduled for Wednesday.
