BUCKEYE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - The Buckeye community is holding an event hoping to bring leads to the whereabouts of Jesse Wilson.
In just a week Jesse is supposed to start the 4th grade at Bradley Academy in Goodyear. His teachers and classmates are all holding out hope that he will be there for the first day of school.
"We expect him to be here on the first day of school or I will personally find him," said Principal Harold Cadiz.
Jesse had been attending the academy for the past few years. A yellow desk with his name on it, a symbol to welcome him back.
"He is a very wonderful student to have, he's very well liked," said Cadiz.
Jesse vanished on July 17 overnight. His mom called police saying Jesse had left the house without her noticing.
"My son has either climbed out the window which he's done before, or he's gone out the back door," said his mother on a 9-1-1 call recording.
Hundreds of volunteers scoured the neighborhood searching for him. Recently a local pizza shop starting distributing flyers on pizza boxes. The entire community coming together to find Jesse, but so far no luck.
This weekend a convoy of cars draped in yellow ribbons will drive down the route that Jesse would normally take to school every day.
"Showing Jesse, hey we're waiting for you, and looking for you, and follow the lights," said Cadiz.
The event begins at 7 p.m. Saturday evening at the Walmart near Watson and Yuma in Buckeye.
Anyone with information on Jesse's location is asked to call Buckeye Police.
