Here's a look at the latest police investigations, fires, crashes and other incidents that are happening around the Valley for July 3-9.

This will be updated as police and fire departments release information about their investigations throughout the week.

July 9

  • 51st Avenue and McDowell - A woman was detained after she reportedly started throwing rocks at people. One man claimed he was hit. Police say they had to use a "less-lethal" weapon after she charged at officers.
  • Phoenix firefighter hurt, 12 displaced after double house fire
  • 32nd Street and Thunderbird, Phoenix -  Two people were detained after someone opened fire at a house party. Witnesses told police that the two men had crashed the party and had been in an argument when they were told to leave. No injuries reported.

July 8

  • 43rd Avenue and Peoria, Phoenix - Four people were hospitalized in a two-car crash at 10:46 p.m. A man and woman are in critical condition. A teenage girl and a man were hospitalized in stable condition.
  • Man gets stuck inside tortoise hole in New River backyard
  • 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road, Phoenix - Phoenix Fire says 4 people are without a home after theirs caught fire on July 8. A man was treated for smoke inhalation but is going to be OK. A crisis team is helping the family.
  • 24th Street and Broadway Road, Phoenix - Phoenix firefighters put out a fire at a home around 1 p.m. The home was vacant.
  • 7th Avenue and Glendale, Phoenix -  Three people will be displaced after a fire broke out at a townhome at around 11 a.m.
  • 29th Avenue and Northern, Phoenix - A man was seriously hurt after being shot at around 10:20 a.m. It's still under investigation.
  • Large Glendale house fire leaves 2 hurt
  • 8th Avenue and Gilbert Road, Mesa -  A man was stabbed in what appears to be a domestic situation involving two cousins. The suspect was taken into custody, and the injured male is expected to be okay.

Suspect dead following Glendale police shooting

The shooting, according to officials, happened near 53rd Avenue and Maryland, and there may be a total of three scenes that are connected to the incident. FOX 10's Stephanie Bennett reports.

2 Phoenix shootings end in crashes

Phoenix police are investigating after two shootings left a total of three people in the hospital overnight, and both of them ended in crashes.

Suspect dead following Phoenix shooting

The incident, which happened in the area of 24th Street and Jefferson, involved a DPS trooper, but DPS officials say they are not sure at this time whether the suspect died from being shot by authorities, or via a self-inflicted gunshot wound. FOX 10's Stephanie Bennett reports.

Firefighter burned in vacant Mesa building fire

One firefighter suffered minor burn injuries to his hand while battling a fire that broke out Monday at two vacant building near Country Club Drive and Southern Avenue.
