Here's a look at the latest police investigations, fires, crashes and other incidents that are happening around the Valley for Aug. 28-Sept. 3.

September 3

  • Circumference Trail, Phoenix - A 50-year-old man became overheated and dehydrated on the trail and needed help off. He's stable at the hospital, Phoenix Fire said.
  • Main Street and Lazona Drive, Mesa - A trailer burned in a fire Sunday afternoon. No one was hurt, but several pets are missing.
  • Teenage girl shot, killed in west Phoenix
  • ASU student was attacked with ‘blunt object’ on Tempe campus: PD
  • Pedestrian killed in Maryvale hit-and-run crash, police say
  • 79th Avenue and Whyman Avenue, Phoenix - A man was shot multiple times at a party in the area at around 3:30 a.m. Several vehicles were seen fleeing the area, but police were able to stop two vehicles and detained several people. The man is expected to survive. The investigation is ongoing.
  • 8th Avenue and Sirrine, Mesa - A patio fire spread into a duplex, but no one was injured. One dog was rescued, and a cat is still missing. A power line is also downed in the backyard.
  • Dysart Road and Grand Avenue, Surprise - Two people were hospitalized in a multi vehicle crash. No word on how severely they were hurt.

2 dead, 2 critically injured in head-on crash

Two drivers were killed in a head-on crash in Maricopa County Friday night, the sheriff's office says. The crash happened just before 11:30 p.m. near SR 87 and Sheep’s Crossing on Sept. 1.

Scottsdale jewelry store theft thwarted

A man's attempt to steal from a jewelry store in Old Town Scottsdale went wrong, thanks to a group of brave bystanders who took action before police arrived. FOX 10's Stephanie Bennett reports.

Police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a car near 17th Avenue and Bell Road Thursday night.

SR51 closed for some time due to unresponsive driver

State Route 51 was closed near Downtown Phoenix for some time on Aug. 30, due to a situation that, according to DPS officials, involved an unresponsive driver in possession of a weapon described as an 'AK-style pistol.' FOX 10's Lauren Clark reports.

Witnesses left stunned after Loop 101 wrong-way crash

A driver fleeing from a trooper was spun out by a pit maneuver, started driving the wrong way on Loop 101, and then crashed into several cars Tuesday afternoon in Scottsdale, DPS said.

Suspects allegedly tried to cash fake checks

Glendale Police were led into central Phoenix on Monday after a series of alleged criminal acts stemming from a stolen car and alleged forged checks.
