Accused Parkland school shooter in Florida court

Accused Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz is expected to be in a Fort Lauderdale court for a status hearing Wednesday.

The judge is expected to hear several issues, including the school board's request to hold the Sun-Sentinel in contempt of court.

The Broward County School Board claims the newspaper violated court orders by publishing details about Cruz's educational background that were supposed to be redacted to protect his privacy, according to WPTV.

The judge could also set a tentative trial date.

Cruz, 19, faces the death penalty if convicted in the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where 17 people were killed on Valentine's Day.
