5 extremely ill puppies being treated at Arizona Humane Society
PHOENIX - The Arizona Humane Society is caring for five extremely ill puppies after they were rescued by Emergency Animal Medical Technicians on August 6 at a home near 26th Street and Grandview.
AHS' Ashleigh Goebel says the dogs were in critical condition and infected with parvo virus, an often fatal disease if left untreated.
The puppies will remain in AHS' Parvo Puppy Intensive Care Unit, which is an isolated ward for dogs carrying the disease.
"The puppies are receiving IV fluids, medication and special care, but they have a long road ahead of them," she said.
Police say the dogs were living in deplorable conditions.
