CHINO VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say three people were killed in a three-vehicle wreck in north-central Arizona.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said four other people were injured in the wreck Thursday on U.S. 89 north of Chino Valley.
The DPS said a southbound SUV driven by 47-year-old Hue Sowash of Peach Springs crossed the center line and collided head-on with a SUV driven by 29-year-old Ian A. Castelhano of Crown King.
Castelhano's SUV then struck a broken-down pickup stopped on the side of the highway.
The DPS said both SUV drivers were killed along with a 3-year-old passenger in Castelhano's SUV. The child's name and gender weren't released.
Castelhano's SUV caught fire but passing motorists got four injured passengers out of.
Nobody in the pickup was injured.
