2-year-old boy in critical condition after near-drowning

GLENDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A 2-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was found in a Glendale swimming pool.

The Glendale Fire Department says the boy was found in the pool by his mother at a home near 54th Avenue and Thunderbird.

The mother performed CPR on the boy until first responders arrived at the scene.

The boy has been taken to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Firefighters say there is a fence surrounding the pool and they are unsure how the boy gained access to the pool.
