PHOENIX - An investigation is underway at a strip mall in west Phoenix after police say two men were shot in the parking lot.
Phoenix Police say the double shooting happened at around 2:30 a.m. on June 16 near 51st Avenue and McDowell Road.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two men who had been shot. The victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
"After speaking to witnesses they learned one of the injured males was shot by an adult male suspect," Sgt. Philip Krynsky said. "The victim then fired back at the suspect, however, the victim struck another uninvolved adult male."
A witness who did not want to go on camera told FOX 10 that a fight broke out during a private party at a nightclub in the strip mall, which led to the shooting.
The suspect left the scene after the shooting and remains on the loose.
