2 arrested after woman found dead, tied up with boyfriend in Phoenix hotel

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix police say two people have been arrested after a man and woman were tied up in a hotel room in Phoenix Sunday morning. The man escaped, but the woman was killed.

Officers arrived to the motel in the 2700 block of Sweetwater Ave. around 8 a.m. Sunday morning.

Upon arrival, they located a man who told them he and his girlfriend got into an altercation with some individuals who had visited them at the room they were staying in.

Earlier that morning, he and his girlfriend had been bound up in the room, but he was eventually able to escape and call for help.

The man's girlfriend, 29-year-old, Tiffani Selleys, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson with Phoenix police, 43-year-old Mario Morris and 53-year-old Samantha Vasquez have been arrested and charged with the murder of Selleys.
