14-year-old boy to pleads not guilty after alleged DUI involved crash

A 14-year old valley boy who police say was driving drunk when he caused a bad crash a couple of weeks ago pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.

The teen is being tried as an adult.

Police say say Miguel Maldonado ran a red light near 67th Avenue and Van Buren. He slammed into a car, causing it to roll over and nearly kill a little girl.

His blood alcohol content was .109.

He's charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault and 1 count of endangerment.

Maldonado is expected to appear in court on September 10.
