PD: Teen among 7 people shot at party in Phoenix

PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Phoenix Police say seven people were shot, including a 15-year-old, at a party overnight.

Police say a party was taking place at a warehouse near 22nd Avenue and McDowell Road at 2:38 a.m. Sunday, when a fight broke out in the street near the building. Shots were fired and seven people were hit by the gunfire and taken to hospitals.

"Somebody or more than one person started shooting in that fight," said Sgt. Tommy Thompson with the Phoenix Police Department. "And we have seven people who were injured."

Phoenix Police say at one point there could have been 200 people in attendance. Partygoers who stuck around to talk to police say the scene was chaos.

"And then you see a kind of scuffle and stuff and out of nowhere, you just [hear] snaps," one partygoer said. "You hear one pop and the multiple pops. Just rounds and rounds everywhere. People were running and it was bad."

Police say one of the victims is a 15-year-old boy, and the six others were also males between 18 and 28-years-old. None of their injuries are considered life-threatening.

One witness says his brother is amongst the injured.

"He was pointing and shooting," the witness said. "And that's when my brother got shot."

Another witness adds he hopes justice is served.

"It's just like, you can't go out anymore," the witness said. "Like you have to deal with this every time you go out and it's stupid. Honestly, you don't need that negative behavior here."

Investigators are looking for four males who are believed to be responsible for the shooting. They reportedly fled the scene in a red Toyota Prius.
