Police: 2 dead, 2 injured in Globe bar shooting
GLOBE, Ariz. (KSAZ/AP) - Authorities say two people are dead and two others were injured following a shooting at a bar in Globe.
The Globe Police Department says the shooting happened at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night at the Jammerz Bar on Broad Street.
According to investigators, a gunman walked in alone and began shooting.
Two people were killed in the shooting and two others were airlifted to a Phoenix hospital.
Police believe that Sterling Randall Hunt, 22, walked into the bar where four people had been playing pool, and shot them with a semi-automatic pistol for some reason. Police were able to swiftly identify Hunt, who is from the Navajo nation, as the shooter. Hunt was arrested on the San Carlos reservation on unrelated charges.
The victims have yet to be identified, as police are still trying to locate loved ones. After the news conference Monday afternoon, however, friends identified one of those who died as 44-year-old Christi Licano.
Police say officers responded to the bar within one minute of the shooting.
Globe is roughly 87 miles east of Phoenix.
