Arizona weather forecast: A cooler Friday in Phoenix with highs in the 60s

A nice weekend ahead for all the outdoor events planned across the Valley and State.

Friday afternoon temperatures will climbed to 68° with light winds and sunshine in Phoenix. Thanks to a cold front that passed the state on Friday morning, overnight temperatures will be cooler..

Lows are forecast to fall into the middle 40s officially at Sky Harbor Airport, but some spots along the Valley may fall into the upper 30s to low 40s. In Northern Arizona, low temperatures return to the 20s and even teens.

This weekend, additional clouds return to the forecast, beginning early Saturday morning. This means anyone trying to catch the Geminids meteor shower Friday night should go out earlier, between 10pm and 2am, instead of later into Saturday morning.

The high temperatures reach the low 70s in Phoenix Saturday and Sunday.

By next week, warm air will build up across the Southwest with a strengthening ridge. The result? Much warmer than average temperatures! Highs reach the middle to upper 70s by mid-late next week. It will be dry all week, too.
