Record-high laser strikes reported in Arizona: FAA
People pointing lasers at planes is a big problem that's only growing, and Arizona is not an exception to the trend. In a new report, the Federal Aviation Authority says it received more than 13,000 laser strike reports from pilots in 2023. That's the highest amount ever recorded since stats started to be kept in 2010. In Arizona alone, there were 558 reports, a 4% increase from 2022. If you are caught shining a laser at an aircraft, you could face a fine of up to $30,800, along with criminal charges.
