Sand Stone Fire: Sunflower residents on SET status

The Sunflower area is in SET status, meaning be ready to evacuate, due to the Sand Stone Fire burning nearby in the Tonto National Forest. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says now is the time to gather essential items if you need to leave in a hurry.

California's Park Fire scorches more than 300,000 acres

A wildfire burning in California is exploding in size as it tears through communities in the northern part of the state. The Park Fire started last Wednesday when authorities say a man set a car on fire and pushed it into a ditch. The more than 360,000-acre fire has burned several dozen homes and buildings. Sand Stone Fire closes SB SR 87

Southbound lanes of SR 87 near Payson are closed as the Sand Stone Fire grew to 15,000 acres on Sunday, July 28. The fire first sparked in the Tonto National Forest on July 25. There is no containment.
