Granite Mountain Hotshots memorial unveiled

The city of Prescott raised granite slabs at the historic courthouse square. The names of all 19 firefighters are engraved on the slabs. The 11th anniversary of their deaths is on June 20. All but one member of the 20-person team died in 2013 battling the Yarnell Hill Fire.

Teen seriously hurt in rollover crash near Prescott

A 15-year-old girl was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital with serious head injuries following a crash near Prescott on Dec. 26. The teenage girl was thrown from the backseat and into the windshield during the crash on Cooper Basin Road. Four other teens inside the car were not hurt. Investigators say the driver was believed to be speeding and failed to negotiate a turn before hitting an embankment. The 15-year-old girl was not wearing a seatbelt.

AZ father, son arrested on weapons and drug charges

Authorities say 68-year-old Michael Grossman Sr. and 29-year-old Michael Grossman Jr. were arrested at the Prescott Country Club after deputies served a search warrant at their home and found nearly 20 firearms and 85 fentanyl pills.

Fire forces evacuation of Prescott seniors

Nearly 100 seniors were forced into a shelter over the weekend after a fire swept through their living center in Prescott. The temporary shelter was set up by Yavapai County and the Red Cross.
