Tucson woman attacked by javelinas

A 64-year-old woman was attacked by a group of javelinas while walking her dog at a Tucson park. Arizona Game and Fish says five javelinas were involved in the attack. The woman was bitten on the ankle and arm.

Suspect crashes stolen Pima County Sheriff's vehicle

Authorities say a sheriff's deputy and sergeant were dealing with a suspect wanted for burglary on Jan. 31. The suspect fought with them while they were trying to detain him, and he got away in a patrol car. Deputies used spike strips to stop the suspect, who crashed the patrol car into other vehicles.

UArizona, NAU work to boost semiconductor industry

The University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University have formalized a new agreement to boost the state's semicondctor industry. The two universities, along with industry partners, will collaborate on research projects and academic partnerships related to semiconductor manufacturing. The agreement also encourages the two schools to share research space and equipment.

Rabies warning: Possible spike in AZ cases

Arizona Game and Fish Tucson has reported four wildlife attacks this past month, with the most recent involving a possibly rabid bobcat at Saguaro National Park in east Tucson. Officials are investigating the attacks as potentially being caused by rabid animals.

3 hurt in Tucson wrong-way ambulance crash

Police say three people were critically hurt after a vehicle crashed head-on into an ambulance along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Grant Road. Two paramedics and the driver of the other car were hospitalized.

AZ rancher accused of killing migrant in court

The rancher, identified as George Alan Kelly, was arrested nearly a year ago for allegedly shooting an unarmed 48-year-old migrant. Court documents show he believed the group of people he shot at were trespassing and ruining his way of life. Earlier this month, Kelly rejected a plea deal that would have reduced his charge to a count of negligent homicide.

2 injured in rabid gray fox attacks near Tucson

The Arizona Game and Fish Department says a Utah man was injured and a mountain biker was attacked during separate incidents in the Molino Basin Campground area. Anyone who sees the fox should avoid it and call 623-236-7201.
