Watch Fire leaves San Carlos community in shambles

A historic Arizona town is reeling but coming together after the Watch Fire, a human-caused wildfire that officials believe was human caused, left dozens of homes destroyed and more than 1,000 acres burned. FOX 10's Brian Webb has the latest.

The wind-driven Watch Fire is burning in San Carlos and has already scorched more than 500 acres. The fire started on Thursday, July 11, near downtown San Carlos and fire authorities say it's moving toward Peridot Siding and Old Moonbase.

Bridge over Tonto Creek opens to delight of residents

The two-year project to build a bridge over a deadly crossing over Tonto Creek is now open. The project cost $21 million dollars and was designed to save lives and prevent major hassle for residents in the area. FOX 10's Kenzie Beach has the story.

Tonto Creek Bridge open for drivers in Gila County

The bridge over the Tonto Basin in Gila County is now open to the public. The area is prone to flooding during monsoon season, and in the winter when snow melts. Eight people have died in the past 30 years while trying to cross the creek during flooding. In November 2019, three children were swept away by raging water while riding in a truck trying to cross the flooded wash.

Excessive Heat Warning issued for Phoenix area

An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for the Phoenix area, and several Arizona counties, as temperatures could reach 114°F in some parts of the state this week.
