Blue Star Families aims to help military families relocate

Annually, over 600,000 active duty military personnel are required to relocate due to new assignments, taking their families and loved ones with them to new and unfamiliar locations. Blue Star Families has introduced a program aimed at assisting them in acclimating to their new surroundings.

West Valley school district holds 'Commitment Day'

In the West Valley, a huge event took place on Sept. 18 for high school seniors that brought colleges, military branches, and businesses together at State farm Stadium. FOX 10's Desiree Fluellen has more on Commitment Day.

FOX 10 Salutes: Lt. J.G. Eric Bear

FOX 10 salutes Lieutenant J.G. Eric Bear. The Scottsdale native is training at the Naval Chaplaincy School to serve as a chaplain for America's seafaring warfighters. Bear graduated rom Valley Lutheran High School in 2004 and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix in 2016. Bear has eight years of military service and previously served in the Marines before joining the Navy as a chaplain.

FOX 10 salutes Seaman Alex Tran. The Phoenix native is currently stationed in Great Lakes as a student with naval education and training command. Tran graduated from Peoria High School in 2021 and joined the Navy one year ago. We thank you for your service.

Trump's Arlington National Cemetery visit stirs controversy

Controversy is escalating over an incident involving former President Donald Trump's campaign team during an event at Arlington National Cemetery. The incident happened during a wreath-laying ceremony on Monday. An Army spokesman says an employee tried to stop campaign staffers from filming in an area where photography is prohibited when she was "abruptly pushed aside." The employee filed a police report but did not press charges. The Trump campaign says they had permission to film. When asked, Trump's running-mate, JD Vance attempted to turn the issue on Vice President Kamala Harris.
