Major changes for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona

Most Dignity Health hospitals across Arizona will be out of network for anyone who uses Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, which is the largest health insurance provider in our state. Coverage will still apply for ER visits and for members who already have surgery or treatments scheduled. The change went into effect Feb. 1.

ADHD medication is being recalled because bottles labeled for the medication may contain a different drug; Toyota and GM said Takata air bag inflators in certain vehicles are at risk of exploding and hurling shrapnel; outdoor ceiling fan blades may crack or break off the unit; children's tiaras sold on Amazon violate the federal lead content ban; and plastic chairs sold nationwide may break apart while in use.

UArizona, NAU work to boost semiconductor industry

The University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University have formalized a new agreement to boost the state's semicondctor industry. The two universities, along with industry partners, will collaborate on research projects and academic partnerships related to semiconductor manufacturing. The agreement also encourages the two schools to share research space and equipment.

Hobbs to crack down on prescription drug price gouging

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs says her plan will crack down on prescription drug price gouging and make the system more transparent. Hobbs' plan would create a "Prescription Drug Affordability Division" within the state department of "Insurance and Financial Institutions."
