On May 4, which marked the 22nd day of Lori Vallow's murder trial, a Gibert police officer who led an investigation into the attempted murder of Brandon Boudreaux took the stand. Boudreaux is the nephew-in-law of the so-called 'Doomsday Mom.' FOX 10's Justin Lum reports.

The remains of Lori Vallow's children, JJ and Tylee, were found in her husband Chad Daybell's backyard. Daybell is facing several murder charges and had a status conference on May 4. His trial is now set for June 2024.

We've seen multiple detectives from the Chandler Police Department testify regarding the murder of Lori Vallow's fourth husband Charles, but this is the first time someone with Gilbert Police has taken the stand. Ryan Pillar was the lead detective investigating the attempted murder of Brandon Boudreaux, Vallow's ex-nephew-in-law.

Tuesday, May 2 marked the 20th day of Lori Vallow's murder trial. The so-called 'Doomsday Mom' is accused of killing two of her children: JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan. In today's trial proceedings, neighbors of Vallow's current husband, Chad Daybell, took the stand, and one of the testimonies would lead to a curveball in the trial.

A curveball of sorts happened in the trial of the so-called 'Doomsday Mom' of the 20th day of her trial, as defense lawyers for Lori Vallow managed to enter new evidence for the case. Vallow is accused of killing her two children, 7-year-old J.J. Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan, in a case that has garnered national and international media attention. New evidence was admitted in the trial, but by Lori Vallow's defense, not the prosecution. The curveball in court linked the so-called "Doomsday Mom" accused of killing her two children who moved from Arizona to Idaho -- and Vallow's move has to do with her religious beliefs.

We're learning more about the moments that led up to the death of Tammy Daybell, the late wife of Chad Daybell, the now husband of Lori Vallow. FOX 10's Justin Lum has more from inside the courtroom as testimonies continue.

A piece of Lori Vallow's hair was apparently stuck to a piece of duct tape wrapped around her murdered 7-year-old son's body, a witness testified Monday, according to local reports. "The partial DNA profile matched the DNA profile provided for Lori Vallow Daybell," DNA analyst Keeley Coleman testified Monday of the hair stuck to a piece of adhesive. The adhesive had been wrapped around J.J.'s body when investigators found him buried on Daybell's property in June 2020, according to East Idaho News reporter Nate Eaton. Coleman added that "the probability of randomly selecting a random individual in relation to that profile 1 is 71 billion." The analyst later testified that the "the hair had been found on duct tape that was in the presence of decomposition fluids," Eaton reported. As for Tammy Daybell, Chad Daybell's late wife, the chief medical examiner for Utah took the stand, testifying about Tammy’s body being buried and then exhumed in late 2019. The medical examiner not only confirmed she died of asphyxia, but that there were bruises found on her arms and chest, indicating Tammy was restrained before she died. Besides Utah’s chief medical examiner, Dr. Erik Christensen, and the senior DNA analyst with Bode Technology, Keeley Coleman, FBI special agent Ricky Wright took the stand – retracing the steps of another alleged co-conspirator, Lori’s late brother Alex.
