Guns, drugs, cash discovered in massive Phoenix-area bust

Officials with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office say they recently found xanax, ketamine, THC products and other items during a sizable drug bust that took place at multiple locations across the Valley, but one drug that has sparked a crisis of sorts in the state in recent years was not found.

More than 100 pounds of fentanyl seized in Arizona

Troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety seized nearly two million dollars worth of fentanyl in southern Arizona. Troopers pulled over a pickup truck last week outside of Yuma. A K-9 alerted troopers to the drugs being in the truck. During a search, troopers say they found around 110 pounds of fentanyl pills hidden in the truck. The 21-year-old driver, Juan Rivera Junior, was jailed on suspicion of drug charges.

Quarter of a million fentanyl pills found in tire

Pima County Sheriff's deputies seized more than a quarter million pills suspected to be fentanyl. It happened during a traffic stop on I-10 on Wednesday as deputies pulled over an SUV and a K-9 detected the contraband. When they cut open the tire, they found several packages containing more than 277,000 pills. It's unclear what charges the driver may face.
