Woman serves Thanksgiving feast to neighborhood animals

A woman in Parma, Ohio, set a table and left out a Thanksgiving feast for some neighborhood animals ahead of the holiday on Wednesday, November 27.

A video from Michelle Belan shows the meal she served to her "outdoor friends."

It included roast chicken, stuffing, sliced cranberry sauce and other Thanksgiving staples – and was laid out with a proper white-cloth table presentation.

At least two cats showed up to take a bite and a possum took a chicken wing to-go, the video shows.

Two curious cats from inside the house watched as their neighborhood friends enjoyed the feast.

Belan regularly posts similar footage on TikTok of animals enjoying snacks on her porch.

Holiday foods safe for pets

Some holiday staples are safe for pets to consume, while others should be avoided.

A bite or two of turkey and chicken is safe for pets but avoid pieces with skin and seasonings. And especially avoid bones, as tempting or natural as they may seem to give as a toy.

Common dinner vegetables are also safe for pets, such as green beans, carrots, cranberries, potatoes, sweet potatoes and pumpkin.

Desserts, especially chocolate, are unsafe for cats and dogs.

So are grapes and raisins, which could be in some stuffings or salads. Also avoid nuts, salty snacks, garlic and onions.
