Woman accused of 2nd-degree murder after crashing car into Glendale home

A woman was arrested and is accused of driving her car into a Glendale home late last year, killing a mom who was decorating her Christmas tree.

What we know:

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. on Nov. 10 near 67th Avenue and Beardsley Road. After the crash, the victim, Amanda Rogers, 35, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but died on Nov. 18.

On Feb. 5, police announced 22-year-old Celeste Downer was charged with second-degree murder.

The Glendale Police Department says she was drunk and high when she crashed into the home.

Investigators say Downer had two passengers in her car, including her teenage brother.
