USPS unveils stamp honoring Betty White; here's how to get it

Betty White passed away on New Years Eve - just weeks shy of her 100th birthday.
LOS ANGELES - Betty White’s legacy will be celebrated in 2025 with a USPS Forever stamp, honoring her iconic career and advocacy for animals.
The U.S. Postal Service announced last week that the agency will "commemorate the warmth, wit and charisma" of the late actress with a new Forever stamp bearing her likeness.

According to USPS, the Betty White stamp features a digitally created portrait of the star against a violet-colored background and, in a lighter shade, bubbly spots that "befit her sparkling personality." She is also portrayed wearing a polka-dotted blue top.
Boston-based artist Dale Stephanos created the digital illustration from Alston's photo.

"I’d love to send a letter back to my 18-year-old self with this stamp on it and tell him that everything is going to be OK," Stephanos posted on Facebook.
How to get Betty White stamps
What's next:
The Betty White stamp will be available in panes of 20. As Forever stamps, they will be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.
The first-day-of-issue event for the Betty White stamp will be held at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens on March 27.
Betty White’s legacy lives on

White died in late December 2021, less than three weeks before her 100th birthday.
With a career spanning 60 years, the beloved actor was known for roles including "The Golden Girls," "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Boston Legal."

Often referred to as the "First Lady of Television," White was honored with five Primetime Emmy Awards for her work in television, as well as three Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Grammy Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was also much recognized for her animal welfare work.
