Teen injured in Phoenix shooting after people inside 2 cars exchange gunfire
PHOENIX - A teen was injured in a shooting in Phoenix early Sunday morning, the police department said.
The Dec. 29 shooting happened around 4:45 a.m. near 7th Street and Union Hills Drive. Police say the incident involved several teens, but just one of them was shot.
"The injured victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," Phoenix Police Sgt. Rob Scherer said.
He adds, "Preliminary information indicates that two vehicles traveling on Union Hills Drive exchanged gunfire. Detectives responded to assume the investigation. Additional information related to this incident remains part of the ongoing investigation."
