Victim, suspect identified in deadly Phoenix shooting

The Brief

    • A man was shot and killed just east of Steele Indian School Park on Friday, Dec. 27.
    • The victim was identified as 33-year-old Rayeon McKinnon.
    • The suspect, 55-year-old Henry Turner, was arrested.

PHOENIX - A man is dead after he was shot and rushed to the hospital on Friday, Dec. 27. 

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m., close to the intersection of Indian School Road and 7th Street near the Los Jardines Apartments.

The apartment complex is about one block east of Steele Indian School Park.

A day later, police identified the victim as 33-year-old Rayeon McKinnon.

Police say the suspect, 55-year-old Henry Turner, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of murder and being a prohibited possessor in possession of a firearm.
