Shooting leaves woman injured near Desert Ridge Marketplace

PHOENIX - One woman was shot and taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries on Jan. 11 in Desert Ridge.

According to a release, police arrived at the area near Tatum Boulevard and Rose Garden Lane and found an injured woman.

It was soon determined she had at least one gunshot wound and detectives secured the area.

Once the woman was taken to the hospital, the area was closed for an investigation.

Phoenix Police say the incident happened around 9:40 a.m.

The woman's identity was not released.
