Sex offender who was previously deported arrested in Southern Arizona

A convicted sex offender who was previously deported has been arrested in Southern Arizona.

Border Patrol agents captured 35-year-old Santiago Mariano-Aguirre last weekend near Nogales.

In 2005, he was convicted of a sex crime involving a minor in Northern California.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says the Mexican national is now facing prosecution for immigration violations.
