Scottsdale becoming a pool party destination

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- The weather is heating up, and so are the pool parties in Arizona.

Organizers say the culture is growing in the Valley, so venues are capitalizing.

As the beat builds and the sun sets, one party is far from over.

"It's indescribable. It's amazing," said Shani wall.

"It's definitely a great vibe here," said Angelique Medina.

"I just moved here six months ago from Vegas, and it has, like, the good vibe of Vegas. I enjoy the atmosphere around here," said Orlando Gonzalez.

The party wasn't in Vegas or Miami. This particular pool party happened in Scottsdale. It was opening weekend of "Release Season" at Talking Stick Resort, and there were reportedly over 2,000 people here at the party, because Arizona provides all of the necessary elements for the perfect pool party.

"Release Season" is Talking Stick Resort's series of summer pool parties, a summer-long attraction bringing in waves of young people who want to beat the heat.

"110-115 degrees in summer, a lot of people are thinking about getting out of town," said Kyle Anderson, Advertising Manager for Talking Stick Resort. "It's important that you utilize all your amenities."

With a capacity of more than 4,500, along with two pools and several VIP cabanas, Anderson said more major global artists are headed to this Scottsdale venue.

"This season promises to be our best yet," said Anderson. "Already, we've announced the likes of Steve Aoki, Yellowclaw, Zedd, tomorrow, Dillon Francis. A lot of big DJs are coming to Talking Stick Resort this year."

"My whole point about being here is just being able to be here with your group, and definitely the DJ is a plus," said Medina.

A huge crowd cheered for DJ Deorro, with some pumping their fists, and some capturing everything on their phones, all while having a drink and dancing the day away. The pool party culture is becoming more and more popular, according to Anderson.

"We've actually found that more people are on our website compared to last year, and it's doubled," said Anderson.

So, could Scottsdale earn the title of having the hottest pool party scene? Only time will tell. For Arizonans, however, the warm weather, countless pools and live music are right in their backyard.

"You get to enjoy all the elements of Arizona, and then, you're right in the heart of Old Town, so it's great. You get to enjoy it all," said Layne Wall.

Talking Stick isn't the only Scottsdale pool party location. According to phoenix.org, people can also pool party at BLK Live, Maya Day and Night Club, and the Lustre Rooftop Bar.
