Police shooting in Maricopa sends man to the hospital

Officials with the community of Maricopa say a man was taken to the hospital as a result of an officer-involved shooting.

Shooting happened in residential neighborhood

What we know:

Per a statement, officers were called to a house near the area of Bowlin Road and Regent Drive at around 8:00 a.m. what was described as a call for service.

Officials said the suspect was taken to a hospital in the Phoenix area. No officers were hurt.

What we don't know:

In their statement, Maricopa officials did not reveal what led up to the shooting. Also, the suspect's identity remains unknown at this point.
