Phoenix police arrest man for killing another man using metal pole
PHOENIX - Phoenix police have arrested a man accused of killing another man with a metal pole.
Sgt. Tommy Thompson said Thursday that 34-year-old Forrest Alvin Miles III has been booked on manslaughter and possession of dangerous drugs.
According to investigators, officers saw Miles running down a street carrying a 4-foot-long metal pole Wednesday night.
He was being chased by a man who told officers that Miles had hit someone with the pole.
Thompson says officers detained Miles and found 40-year-old John Kallay lying on the street.
Kallay was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries.
It was not immediately known if Miles had an attorney to speak on his behalf.
