Cox says 23-year-old Isaac Clark was at the park just before 1 a.m. when he heard someone damaging his friend's car.
Clark confronted the suspects and a physical altercation ensued. Investigators say that's when Clark was stabbed multiple times. He later died at a hospital.
It was not immediately known if any of the suspects had an attorney.
The investigation remains ongoing.
