Phoenix officer hospitalized after crash

PHOENIX - A Phoenix police officer was taken to the hospital after a crash near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road Thursday night. 

The collision happened sometime after 9 p.m. A white truck could be seen with a mangled front end.

The officer's injuries are not life-threatening, and the driver of the other vehicle was unhurt, police said.

The intersection was temporarily closed while investigators determined the cause of the collision.
