Phoenix fire crews conduct water rescue for truck in canal
PHOENIX - Phoenix firefighters rescued a man in a truck after he crashed into a canal near 39th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road Friday morning.
The driver was not hurt.
A tow truck has been called to remove the vehicle from the water.
Firefighters say it was a swift water rescue, making it good practice for the monsoon season - officials say it only takes three inches of water for vehicles to hydroplane and lose control.
