PD: Beer run suspect caught after falling out of getaway car

Things didn't work out very well for a group of thieves who were on a beer run early Tuesday morning.

A man is behind bars after police say he fell out of a getaway car.

It happened around 1 a.m. at a Shell gas station at Cave Creek Road and Beardsley.

Police say the suspects were trying to steal beer, but the clerk managed to make things difficult for them.

Three men reportedly walked into a convenience store and each grabbed a 30-pack.

The clerk managed to get one of the cases back.

When the suspects got back to their car, the clerk walked out to get the vehicle's license plate number.

Police say the suspects got out of the car and confronted the clerk; one even pushed him.

When they tried to drive off, the passengers fell out of the car.

Two suspects managed to get away, but one suspect who fell out of the car was caught by police.

We're told that the suspect who was caught suffered some road rash.

No information about the other suspects has been released.
