The Arizona Fire and Medical Authority was sent to help rescue a person stuck on a roof after he injured himself with a nail gun.

It happened near the intersection of Mountain View Boulevard and Goldwater Ridge Drive in Surprise.

Rare images were produced that showed firefighters using a ladder bucket to reach the injured person and lower him to the ground.

Firefighters used a stokes basket, which is designed to maneuver around obstacles easier than typical fire baskets.

It is shaped like a stretcher for safer transportation of injured people who need to be lowered while secured in a lying position.

The injured person, who was not identified, was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
