Man dies after being pulled from Arcadia house fire

A man has died after a house fire broke out early Friday morning in Phoenix.

The fire happened on Feb. 7 near Arcadia Drive and Indian School Road.

The Phoenix Fire Department says crews responded at about 6:15 a.m. for reports of a structure fire. Once at the scene, firefighters were met with heavy smoke coming from inside the home.

What they're saying:

"As firefighters were conducting their search and rescue they found an adult male unconscious and not breathing," Capt. Todd Keller said.

The man was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition where he later died.

"The community assistance program is currently working with family members and tending to their needs," Keller added.
